We are thrilled to announce that The Transition Network has a new name: Women's Connection.
Why a new name? Because times have changed. When our organization was born almost a quarter-century ago, many professional women viewed "retirement" as a big, empty space. There were few resources for women who were trying to imagine how to create a rich and satisfying post-career life.
TTN was a pioneer in connecting women who were making transitions from working full time to living full time. Today, the friendships, inspiration and support we find here empower us to thrive across all the transitions we experience in our full and ever-changing lives.
Connection is the spirit that drives our community. In a 2023 survey, we asked women for a word to describe what they valued most about their membership in TTN. "Connection" was the #1 choice by a large margin –– and we now have it in our name.
Any change requires time to get used to, but we're confident that we'll soon love having a name that so clearly describes our purpose. We hope it will make it easier for women who are searching for a community like ours to find us.
Representatives from every chapter collaborated on developing our new identity, and we want to thank them for a job well done. Members of your chapter's steering committee can answer any questions you have. We'll be glad to hear from you too. Just respond to this email and we'll get back to you!
