Spring Has Sprung, Summer Has Arrived,
and We Have a New Name!
The Billings Chapter continues to grow. We now have 133 members! We added an Ambassador Program this year to help new members understand the ropes of Women's Connection. Our ambassadors are Diane Reichenberg, Cathy Holland and Maggie Arbuckle. Thank You ladies, for stepping up and making a difference.
An orientation meeting was held for the newly formed Caring Collaborative in late January, and the program is now up and running.
We have 1 new Peer Group and several new Special Interest Groups as a result of the open house in January, some SIGs have already filled up. Be sure to check out the new SIG area on our Chapter website. It breaks down open and closed SIGs as well those trying to form.
One & Done, our Volunteering and Community Impact SIG has been very busy this Spring with the Area Special Olympic Games, Bright n' Beautiful Clean Up, and SpringFest at the Moss Mansion.
Meet and Greets were held at Phattys, Grand Garden, Mackenzie River, and the Red Door.
We held a Women in Transition workshop in June. It was very well received, we plan to hold another in the fall.
Members took an educational tour of The Yellowstone Valley Food Hub.
We conducted another survey of our members in May, 54% of you responded, Well Done!
In June we were fortunate to have Darla Hastings, the Women's Connection Executive Director visit our Chapter. She gave a presentation at the Library to Billings Members which was very informative. Who knew, our chapter is known as the Cool Girls!
The Steering Committee met with Darla over a potluck dinner afterward to discuss National Strategies. Several Steering Committee Members gave Darla a mini tour, taking her to Red Lodge and part way up the Beartooth Highway.
We combined our Annual Picnic with our 8th Anniversary Party this year, which was held at Zoo Montana. What a party it was. We had a wonderful presentation by Jeff Ewalt, the Zoo's Director. It was also an opportunity to meet Darla for many.
Thank you to all of you "Cool Girls" for making our chapter a success!
