Urban Hiking
General Information

The Urban Hiking SIG explores parks, trails, and new locations in the metro area with one or more monthly gatherings including hikes which focus on fitness and movement. Our hikes are about 3 miles and we walk at a moderate pace. Everyone is welcome to participate in any or all events throughout the year without any ongoing obligation. We also welcome suggestions from everyone on new locations to explore.

The group uses a rotational leadership model and invite members to select a location and lead a hike.

If you want to be added to the  list 1) add yourself to the contact group. or 2) Contact Lauren Edlund using the Member Directory.  If not a Member, please contact us with any questions you may have.

Oakdale hiking 10.24.25
11 women participated in our October hike at the Oakdale Nature Preserve. It was a beautiful day and a wonderful hike. After the hike, 8 women had lunch at nearby Shar'els Cafe where many bowls of warn soup, chili or oatmeal were consumed. Thanks to Linda for planning this hike.

We decided to live dangerously and schedule an outdoor hike in November on Friday, the 21st. We are delaying our start time until 1:00 PM to allow the temperature to warm up. We will meet at the Lake Harriet pavilion and walk around the lake. We will cancel if the conditions are not conducive to an outdoor walk - be sure to register in case there are weather updates.

Thanks to Lauren for coordinating our hikes again this season.

We anticipate we will be walking and having lunch at Mall of America in January and February.
