The Thielke Arboretum of Glen Rock is a 16-acre oasis containing diverse, natural forest types and planted specimen trees which encompass a tree and woody plant collection of over 250 species. The Arboretum is a local sanctuary for native flora and fauna conservation; the indigenous plants provide habitat for beneficial insects, butterflies, majestic birds, turtles, and more. The Arboretum Tour: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow will include the history of the Arboretum while exploring its various habitats and ecosystems.
This will be a fairly flat walk, approximately one hour. Street Parking is available in front of education building or in parking lot in front of pool, no steps. Each participant will be asked to sign a Hold Harmless waiver which will be provided.
The Thielke Arboretum is a freshwater wetlands and the trails and pathways are often wet and muddy. Sturdy weatherproof footwear is strongly advised. Please dress for the weather.
