The Seat of Action Exhibit
The Seat of Action Exhibit at the Long Island Museum at Stony Brook, spotlights the experiences of the Long Island region during the revolutionary war, an era that was under martial law and British control longer than any other part of the American colonies. Your guided tour through the first exhibition features a rich array of artifacts and paintings, including a rare portrait of General Washington’s spymaster Benjamin Tallmadge’s member of the famous Culper Spy Ring.
A bonus exhibition is also available, Saturday Night Fever. LI suburbia growing, the fashions and memorabilia of the 70’s. Stroll the exhibits and walk down memory lane.
Your program will start in the History Museum and continue to the Art Museum. There is parking on both upper and lower locations. Guests to this event will receive a tag to explore the museum on their own through closing at 5 PM
