CCHC's walking tour highlights pivotal moments in the life of Civil Rights icon
Bayard Rustin. In the 2023 Netflix biopic Rustin, Philadelphia native Colman Domingo’s Oscar-nominated performance highlights Rustin as an "unsung hero" of the civil rights movement, focusing on his pivotal role as the chief organizer of the 1963 March on Washington while navigating challenges as an openly gay Black man. Now you can follow in Bayard’s footsteps through the center of West Chester and learn about the experiences that helped shape him into an influential peace activist and adviser to Martin Luther King Jr. CCHC is normally closed on Tuesdays, but will be open exclusively for our group on the day of the tour.

Limoncello Restaurant in West Chester following the tour. Limoncello is a five-minute walk from the History Center.

- Diners are responsible for the cost of their lunch, which is not included in the tour price.

• Public parking is available at the Chestnut Street Garage at 14 East Chestnut Street, across the street from CCHC.
• Metered parking is available on-street and in several parking lots.

Cancellation Policy:
If you are a member and cancel your registration before the specified deadline, you will receive a full refund as a credit to your account. You can use the credit to pay for another event or put it toward your annual dues payment. Non-members will receive a refund on their credit card, minus a $4 processing fee.
No refunds are available to members or non-members after the cancellation deadline.
