Walking Tour (1 mile, 60-75 minutes)
CCHC's walking tour highlights pivotal moments in the life of Civil Rights icon Bayard Rustin. In the 2023 Netflix biopic Rustin, Philadelphia native Colman Domingo’s Oscar-nominated performance highlights Rustin as an "unsung hero" of the civil rights movement, focusing on his pivotal role as the chief organizer of the 1963 March on Washington while navigating challenges as an openly gay Black man. Now you can follow in Bayard’s footsteps through the center of West Chester and learn about the experiences that helped shape him into an influential peace activist and adviser to Martin Luther King Jr.  CCHC is normally closed on Tuesdays, but will be open exclusively for our group on the day of the tour.

Optional Lunch at Limoncello - view the menu
Come enjoy lunch with us at Limoncello Restaurant in West Chester following the tour. Limoncello is a five-minute walk from the History Center.
