Given we will be celebrating our country's 250th birthday this year - what can be more American than State Fairs.
Lets start celebrating on April 4, as we will be heading to the Renwick Gallery to visit the State Fairs: Growing American Craft exhibit. This is the first major exhibition dedicated to artists' contributions to the great U.S. tradition of state fairs. Part of the State Fairs exhibit is a life-size butter cow, crafted from 700 pounds of butter!
The museum is located at 1661 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC 20006. We will meet in the main lobby at 12:30 pm (note meeting time!).
After spending time in the museum we will walk 10 minutes to the Old Ebbitt Grill restaurant for a group lunch. The Old Ebbitt Grill is Washington's oldest saloon, a historic American restaurant near the White House, Its know for oysters and crab cakes as well as steaks and burgers.
Event Host: Debra Roane. Repeat attendees will be invited to host a future event.
