About this event
Women’s Connection’s Advocates for Equity and the Community Volunteer Committee have partnered with The Welcoming Center to bring you this timely and engaging presentation.
Anuj Gupta, President and CEO of The Welcoming Center, will offer a fact-based, data-driven presentation exploring how immigrants are shaping and strengthening the Greater Philadelphia region. His remarks will provide important context, local insights, and practical understanding of immigration’s impact on our economy and civic life. Ample time will follow for questions and discussion.
Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of the economic contributions of immigrants, the demographic changes shaping our region, and the work of The Welcoming Center in creating pathways to opportunity and shared prosperity for all.
The Welcoming Center is a Philadelphia-based nonprofit dedicated to helping immigrants align their strengths with one of five pathways: entrepreneurship, community leadership, workforce readiness, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and digital skills. Its mission is to welcome immigrants as neighbors and leaders and, together, to create pathways to economic growth while strengthening the social and economic fabric of our communities.
Transportation & Parking: The Welcoming Center is located on 13th Street between Race and Vine Streets close to the Reading Terminal. Regional Rail’s Jefferson Station is nearby. There are two parking lots at the corners of 13th and Vine, along with metered street parking.
Dining Options: If you'd like to grab a bite before or after the program, you’ll find plenty of dining options nearby. Reading Terminal Market and Chinatown offer a wide variety of choices, and Nom Wah (218 North 13th Street) is conveniently located just across from The Welcoming Center.
