If you've only spent a few minutes observing the magnificent Christmas Tree and Neapolitan Baroque Creche at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, you may have terribly shortchanged yourself. At least an hour to 90 minutes is required to unveil the 70 secrets behind the hidden symbolism of this great New York Christmas tradition.
The nearly 100 angels and figurines in adoration of the Holy Family provide important imagery and extraordinary beauty that make the creche a unique piece of 18th-century art and allow it to earn its distinction as "The Sistine Chapel of the Presepe". Whether you return annually or are a first timer to this yearly New York Christmas tradition, let us help you develop, not just an appreciation, but a deeper understanding of this fine work! Space is limited.

You can tour the rest of the museum either before or after.
10:30 am to 12:00 pm — Group 1 (5 people max)

1:30 pm to 3:00 pm — Group 3 (5 people max)
