The Glenview Mansion Art Gallery is housed on the second floor of historic Glenview Mansion. The gallery’s sun-filled rooms, overlooking the formal gardens, feature exhibitions by local, national and international artists of all mediums.
Currently, The Shades of Pastel National Juried Exhibition is showing at Glenview Mansion Art Gallery. This juried show, with artists from around the country, happens only every two years. Artists submit their work to a judge or a panel of judges, who select specific pieces for display based on quality, originality, and technique.
In the art world, pastel does not refer to pale colors. It is pure pigment, meaning that the paintings and colors are permanent. If framed properly, there is no darkening, cracking, fading, or blistering over time.
After viewing the art, we will go to La Speranza Restaurant, 806 Baltimore Rd in Rockville. You can view the menu.
Attendees will be responsible for paying for their meal, drinks, tax, and a 20% tip.
