The special centennial edition of the annual Celebration of Textiles community festival highlights the enduring textile traditions of cultures around the world, with special performances and activities led by practicing artists and diaspora communities from the Washington area.  Explore the world of possibilities for making clothing and textiles - such as learning the origins of the blue in blue jeans, enjoy cultural dance and music performances, and visit the centennial exhibition (indoors), Enduring Traditions:  Celebrating the World of Textiles, to explore global traditions that continue to inspire textile communities today.

We'll meet at 11 am (note the start time) in the museum's lobby and gather there again just before 1 pm to go to lunch at Duke's Grocery an East-London-inspired gastro pub at 2000 Pennsylvania Ave.  It has been voted best brunch, best happy hour, and best burger in DC!

Metro:  Foggy Bottom - GWU
