Enjoy dinner with friends and lively acoustic music performed by local folk musicians in an Open Jam of Bluegrass Music in a casual, outdoor, farm setting at the Beer Farm at Brookeville.
According to the Smithsonian Folkways:
"Bluegrass music is the synthesis of American southern string band music, blues, English, Irish, and Scottish traditions, and sacred and country music. It is distinguished by its high energy, fast tempo sound. The typical bluegrass band includes 5-string banjo, flat-top guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and bass." Born in Appalachia, it migrated and evolved with Southerners moving for jobs in cities beginning 100 years ago and today has gained worldwide popularity.
