NYC(P) – Bird watching in Central Park – 10:00 AM
About this event
Sunday, May 3, 2026, 10:00 AM
We’ll meet at the West 77th Street park entrance on Central Park West and spend a few hours exploring the wooded paths of The Ramble at an easy pace, stopping often to spot and identify birds by sight and sound. Expect fresh air, good company, and the chance to see spring migration up close—right in the middle of Manhattan. Please bring binoculars if you have them.
Early May is the perfect time to go birding because it’s the height of spring migration, maximizing our opportunity to see beautiful, colorful warblers and other migrants like Baltimore orioles and scarlet tanagers. We’ll spend a few hours in the Ramble at mid-Park and see what we can find.
* Optional -Pay-Your-Own Lunch
After the tour, we’ll head to a nearby restaurant for an optional lunch to continue the conversation and enjoy each other’s company. Please plan to bring cash to cover your meal.
Our guide, Beth Geoff, began her tour-guiding career with the Central Park Conservancy in 2014 and birded in the park for almost a decade before that. She is well-acquainted with its landscape and history and loves sharing the park with birders and visitors.
